1. DOCUMENTS ENTITLING A FOREIGNER TO WORK IN BULGARIA ON AN INTERNSHIP

For foreign students (European and non-European), it’s really important to obtain a TIN number in order to get some financial contribution. Therefore it is necessary to fill the form of fiscal residence from National Revenue Agency.

2. VISA & APPLICATION

  • Entry requirements for EU citizens 

Within 90 days stay, there are no formal requirements. For a long period, the foreigners have to respond to requirements arising out of EU can live in the Republic of Bulgaria within 5 years or constantly for which is necessary certificate.

  • Entry requirements for NON-EU citizens

If you are not an EU citizen, you will need two documents allowing you to enter the Bulgarian territory:

– A valid travel document (passport)

– A visa (if required).

3. INSURANCE FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

Important information about insurance:

– Bulgaria has compulsory common healthcare insurance.

– For the EU citizens, it’s required European Health Insurance Card but also it will be useful to have national insurance.

– For the non-EU citizens is required to have national insurance.

4. SHOULD A FOREIGNER IN BULGARIA BE REFERRED FOR PREVENTIVE CARE? 

Occupational health and safety regulations do not oblige employers to give trainees preventive care. However, a foreigner who performs work in Bulgaria should perform preventive examinations on the basis of the regulations in force the country.

5. TENANCY CONTRACT (not obligatory)

As a proof of living in the country is necessary to have a lease agreement as a tenant.
